The government spends more than £100 million on detaining immigrants every year. Last year 10 people died while detained for immigration-related reasons. Courts have found aspects of immigration detention to be “inhuman and degrading” more than once. So why is this allowed to continue? Join our panel to explore why we continue to be the only country in Europe with no legal time limit on immigration detention and what we can do about it.
