A Review of the Human Rights Year
6.30pm Monday 17 December 2018
(Drinks reception to follow)
Allen & Overy LLP, One Bishops Square, London E1 6AD
Every year, the Human Rights Lawyers Association invites you to join us for a look back at the year in human rights law. This year is a little bit special. 2018 marks the 70th birthday of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and the 20th Anniversary of the passage of the Human Rights Act 1998.
Please join us for our Annual Review and an opportunity to reflect on 70 years in international human rights law and 20 years of the Human Rights Act 1998.
From Brexit to bakers; from food banks to Grenfell; reproductive rights and the right to die, from fracking, protest and planes, to surveillance, data mining and fake news, it has been an eventful and important human rights year.
Join our panel to contemplate the human rights headlines of 2018 and to consider the year to come.
