Do you want to be a human rights lawyer?
Then come and hear about how human rights campaigners, solicitors, academics, civil servants and barristers started out. The HRLA Young Lawyers Committee runs two annual career days – this year in London and Manchester. The upcoming 2017 Manchester Careers Day will take place on Wednesday 25 October from 1pm to 6pm. 1.30-2.30: Opening plenary
A five-minute talk from lawyers working in the field of human rights, covering a range of disciplines, on how they got to where they are, what a typical day is like, and practical advice about starting out.
2.30-4.00: Break-out sessions
Three twenty-minute sessions to allow students to have any questions answered. Guests will be able to select which sessions they attend upon registration.
4.00-4.20: Tea and coffee
4.20-5.30: Second plenary
Seven-minute talks from lawyers practicing in human rights, again covering a range of fields.
5.30-6.00: Post-event refreshments
