| Title | 'Being v Belief':Denying Human Rights |
The row over the Catholic Church and gay adoption has once again highlighted the tension that lies at the heart of human rights. Can the Human Rights Act 1998 resolve the clash between the rights of people to be who they are, with the rights of some Faith communities to question, or doubt, the validity of that identity. This topical seminar will explain how human rights standards provide a framework for addressing these dilemmas, which may even offer a solution, which could be of comfort to all concerned. |
