| Further Info | The press and media have long enjoyed special protection in the area of free speech. And in turn they have fought hard to assert those rights against powerful individuals, public figures and institutions. But does that privileged position bring with it a responsibility to uphold and protect human rights as a whole? And do they abuse their own power in the name of free speech, rather than wielding it on behalf of those for whom they claim to speak? |
