Bursary Reports 2008
Looking for a Placement in Human Rights? Unsure How You Will Be Able To Fund It?
If so, the HRLA Bursary could be for you........
What is the HRLA Bursary Scheme?
- The Human Rights Lawyers’ Association (HRLA) recognises that many students without independent financial backing can sometimes be unable to take up internships or work placements in the area of human rights
- In 2007, the HRLA established a bursary scheme to enable law students, either those currently studying (either degree, postgraduate studies or LPC/BVC/CPE/GDL/PgDL) or those who have recently graduated, to enable them to undertake such work
- In 2009, the HRLA will provide between 3 and 5 awards from a maximum bursary fund of £5,000, provided there are suitable applicants. A single award will not normally total more than £1,000
- The money is to be used to enable the successful applicants to undertake work related to human rights law that they would otherwise be unable to afford to do
When is the deadline for applying?
- Every applicant must complete an application form and email it to the HRLA by 1st May
Where can I find out more?
- More information about the Bursary scheme, including details of last years winners and the Bursary Policy and Application form, can be found at http://www.hrla.org.uk/Bursary_2009.php
